About Dr. Bob Allred
Dr. Bob Allred is in his first year as Senior Pastor of St. John United Methodist Church. He received his first circuit appointment in the North Georgia Conference in 1968. He has a BA from Southern Wesleyan University and M.Div. and Th.D. from the Candler School of Theology of Emory University. His passion for ministry is centered on preaching and church growth. He has never been responsible for a loss in membership and has doubled the membership in three churches. During his six years at Atlanta First, he reported a net gain each year despite being in the center city where there had been a consistent thirty-two year loss. Dr. Bob's preaching has been described as folksy, evangelical and has been heavily influenced by John Wesley and C. S. Lewis. They have two grown and married daughters and one granddaughter who live in the Atlanta area. |
